ABOUT THE ARTIST
Samantha Leigh Kearney is a visual artist who strives to create a world for herself. She was born in New Brunswick, NJ in 1998. She lived in central Jersey until 2012 when she moved to north Jersey and established a life there. She attends school at The College of New Jersey as a fine arts major, as well as a sociology major, with an anticipated graduation in May of 20201. She has experience in a number of different fields ranging from work at a fish farm, to healthcare and veterinary services.
Samantha began her interest in art at a young age. She participated in the art clubs in elementary school and soon began getting private lessons from a family friend, evolving in close relationships with her art teachers.
Samantha is inspired by looking within herself. She uses her experience to fuel the work she creates. Exploring and utilizing different mediums, she found comfort in familiar materials. She has an interest that motivates her to push paper to its limits, creating miniatures, neighborhoods and other items. She maintains characteristics central around the self, home, what makes us who we are and demands a pronouncement: Where I’ve Been.
