SAMANTHA LEIGH KEARNEY

I want to share my story. I look at myself and feel pride. The circumstances I have faced have turned me into the person I am now. I have been doing some unintentional exploration, where I have had unexpected realizations about myself. I have learned more and more about my history and use that knowledge to fuel where I go. 

My work, although based in the self, acts as a commentary from my perspective on a number of social issues. It poses another set of shoes for people to stand in when they consider their thoughts on the state of the globe. Artistically, I have been able to ensure more consistent precision and an exploration of different processes. As I am focusing on a cliche, a coming of age story, I employ a body of work that represents me, an extension of my body and a heartfelt display of what I am capable of.
